Arid climate

Image
The arid zone is characterized by excessive heat and inadequate, variable precipitation; however, contrasts in climate occur. In general, these climatic contrasts result from differences in temperature, the season in which rain falls, and in the degree of aridity.

polar climate

The polar zone encompasses the areas around the North and South Poles. Starting from the North Pole, this zone stretches to the Arctic Circle in the Northern Hemisphere, and reaches even further south in North America and Asia. In the Southern Hemisphere, starting from the South Pole, this zone stretches as far north as the Antarctic Circle, encompassing the whole of the continent of Antarctica.

tropical climate

T he word  Tropical  specifically  means  places near the equator. The word is also sometimes used in a general sense for a  tropical  climate, a climate that is warm to hot and moist year-round. This includes  tropical  rainforests with lush vegetation. ...  Tropical  plants and animals are native to the  tropics  or the Torrid zone.  The  tropical  zone includes the Amazon Basin of Brazil, West Africa's Congo Basin and the rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia. Large areas of South America, Africa and Asia, located between the  Tropics  of Cancer and Capricorn, have a  tropical climate .

Climate change

Climate variability includes all the variations in the climate that last longer than individual weather events, whereas the term climate change only refers to those variations that persist for a longer period of time, typically decades or mor

Geography

Elements

Image
An  element  is a pure substance that is made from a single type of atom.  Elements  are the building blocks for all the rest of the matter in the world. Examples of  elements  include iron, oxygen, hydrogen, gold, and helium. Atomic Number. An important number in an  element  is the atomic number.

Atoms

Image
Democritus   was a   Greek philosopher   who was the first person to use the term atom (atomos: meaning indivisible). He thought that if you take a piece of matter and divide it and continue to divide it you will eventually come to a point where you could not divide it any more. An  atom  is the smallest unit of ordinary matter that forms a chemical element. Every solid, liquid, gas, and plasma is composed of neutral or ionized  atoms .  Atoms  are extremely small, typically around 100 Pico meters across.  All matter consists of indivisible particles called  atoms .  Atoms  of the same element are similar in shape and mass, but differ from the  atoms  of other elements.  Atoms  cannot be created or  destroyed .

Compound

Image
chemical compound  is a chemical  composed of many identical molecules  (or molecules   entities ) composed of atoms for  more than one element  held together by chemical bonds . A molecule  A  molecule consisting of atoms of only one element   is therefore not a compound.  A  chemical formula  specifies the number of atoms of each element in a compound molecule, using the standard abbreviations for the chemical elements and numerical  subscripts .

Mixtures

Image
A mixture is a substance made by combining two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs. A mixture can usually be separated back into its original components. Some examples of mixtures are a tossed salad, salt water and a mixed bag of M&M's candy.
